Kylee passed away January 2017. She touched each of our lives. The words she used to share what movement and Pilates meant to her, remain here in tribute to how she inspired us. 💛
Kylee’s passion for movement began as a child in Traverse City. For over 10 years, she was both a gymnast and a gymnastics coach. She attended Michigan State University where she earned a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology in 2005.
She began teaching Pilates in 2007, and was a Stott Pilates instructor for 5 years. In 2012 she found Classic Pilates, and began her certification through the United States Pilates Association teaching Classical Pilates. Then in 2013 she opened her own Classical Pilates Studio. As a young mother, this was an endeavor that grew to partnering with Kristi to open Pilates Sestina in 2016.
“Pilates has had such a hugely positive impact on my life so far. It has helped me to heal through old gymnastics injuries, broken bones, childbirth, stiffness, soreness, back pain, everything!"
Kylee believes she has a better relationship with her body because of her Pilates teaching. She recognizes that she can trust her body to heal, as long as she can guide it through the movements she has learned doing Pilates throughout the years.
She adds, "Our bodies were meant to move, and if you learn to move WELL, then to me that is a surefire path to your own happiness!”
